Canna Savanna is a start-up retail cannabis brand based in Toronto, Canada. Our flagship store is on the ‘Green Mile’, in the heart of Queen West.
CANNA SAVANNA
A NATURAL
CONNECTION
We are influenced and inspired by Africa, where cannabis has traditionally been used for health, recreation and spirituality. African Savannas are spacious and vital – full of life, diversity and activity. They nurture plant life and wildlife. Their croplands and pastures provide sustenance for humans. African Savannas even regulate the global climate. Give and take. Symbiosis. Ubuntu.

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS
QUEEN WEST
Live music. Art Installations. Galleries. Artists’ workspaces. Independent retail. Queen West, the hub of Toronto’s vibrant community arts and cultural scene, buzzes with creativity, diversity, energy and life. We have our own soundtrack: the hum of streetcar tracks and traffic, the whirs and whistles drifting out of coffee shops, the urgent chime of bicycle bells, buskers and laughter and shouted greetings. Home to artists, activists, musicians, seekers, entrepreneurs, visionaries, learners and the eternally curious, we are proud to live in, and be a part of, this community.
UBUNTU
I AM BECAUSE
WE ARE
Ubuntu as a concept existed long before we had the language and tools to write it down. It is more than a word or philosophy – it is a way of life. It translates into action. Not just bold, heroic action, but daily steps we can take to make life kinder. Ubuntu is from the Nguni languages of Zulu and Xhosa. It is about a spirit of togetherness, working towards a common goal.
We’d like to bring a bit of that spirit to our neighbourhood, to Toronto, to our customers, to nature, to the world. Watch this space for more information about community initiatives and collaborations with African NGOs focused on education, housing, and children’s health and well-being.
In Africa there is a concept known as ‘ubuntu’ – the profound sense that we are human only through the humanity of others; that if we are to accomplish anything in this world it will in equal measure be due to the work and achievement of others.
